Help Raise Money for Charity [Closed]

UPDATE (3/1/09): The Charity Drive is over. Much thanks to those who donated.
UPDATES BELOW (2/12/09)*
UPDATE (2/13/09): First Donation Recieved**
Number of Donations: 3
Total Raised(as of 2/14/09): $90

I’ve wanted to do something nice for a while now and this seems like as good a time as any. You may have noticed that there is a button on a left that says, “Donate 2 the Sausage”. This was put into place to try and get help in the funding of creating videos (buying the needed hardware to make them) and just general support. The Sausage Fund has brought me absolutely nothing since its incarnation, but I’m hoping people feel a bit more generous in donating to a charity.

This is where I get to the point of this post. I want to raise as much money as I can for donation to the charity Child’s Play. All donations of money in the month of February will be donated to Child’s Play, but that’s not the only way you can help. If you have any old or unused games/movies/etc, you can send them to me and I’ll do what I can via Ebay (or other means) to sell these items for more money towards the Child’s Play donation.

I really hope a few of you loyal followers find a way to help out this month. I know that you may be thinking "How do I know you won't just pocket what I send?" All I can give you is my word and you can choose whether you trust me or not. I want to do something special to celebrate one year of Distributed Failure, as well as one year of delicious sausage! I want to do something good with the little I've got and I hope you trust me enough to contribute something as well. I will personally be donating $50 of my own money...can't you spare a measly dollar? Thanks, and try to enjoy the lovely teaser trailer of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

* UPDATE (2/12/09):Seeing that SEGA is an awesome company and responsible for some of the greatest consoles to ever exist (poor Dreamcast)...they have also been kind enough to spare some comics/games to give away to those who donate. If you happen to donate during this little charity drive, you may be lucky enough to win one of the prizes! If SEGA is willing to lend a helping hand, can't you? All thanks go to Kellie, Sega of America's Community Manager.

**UPDATE (2/13/09):Received our first donation from the always awesome MB! This raises the current donation total to $70. Keep it coming guys..you just might win a prize! Oh shit, I just made a rhyme. - Another update: Just received a $20 donation from fellow podcaster Rob. This brings the new total to $90!

Side Note: I will list the names of those who donate on the one year anniversary episode of Distributed Failure. Tell me in advance via email if you don't want your name said on the show.
