Streets of Fury is an interesting Double Dragon-esque game that uses digital sprites based off of real people, much like the old Mortal Kombat games (and yes, Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game: That Was a Movie Game: Van Damme – not the official title). The game works surprisingly well and there is quite a bit of replay value for all the completionists out there.
If you enjoy side-scrolling beat ‘em ups then you’ll love Streets of Fury. It features a wonderfully distinct art style that is reminiscent of the early days and it happens to control rather well. Fury features two separate campaigns that are relatively the same, a challenge mode and a versus mode. It’s sad that Fury has no online multiplayer aspect, but that’s just something XBL Indie Games can’t quite accomplish yet.
The best way to see if Fury is the game for you is by simply trying the demo. I found Fury to be enjoyable on all levels and the production values are quite high for an indie title; the music is great, the graphics are great, and the controls are great. Fury is a wonderful title that rests as one of the few indie games that everyone should own.
