Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 04/22 - 04/28/14

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deals with Gold' is all about NBA 2K14...and Need for Speed Rivals. Maybe it's just me, but I always find it funny when a sale seems to be heavily themed towards one game and then, for whatever reason, a second game is thrown into the sale for what must be the ships and giggles of it all. Alright, now that I got that minor rant out of my system--it wasn't much of a rant--I want to move onto another (not) rant about the fact that Xbox One games are rarely included in these weekly sales and, when they are, the discounts aren't always that great; this week's Xbox One deal is for NBA 2K14, a launch title, and is only on sale for $49.99--which seems a bit pointless, especially when you can find a physical copy of the game for cheaper than $49.99. Anyway, if these deals excite you, enjoy; however, coming off of PSN's flash sale full of $1 games, the Xbox LIVE deals this week leave a lot to be desired.

To get the Xbox 360 games on sale and whatnot, go straight to the Xbox LIVE 'Deals with Gold' page by clicking THIS, or enjoy individual links below. Enjoy them or else! Or else I'll send more empty threats.

Xbox LIVE 'Games with Gold' free game for 04/16 - 04/30/14: Deadlight

The newest free game as part of Xbox LIVE's 'Games with Gold' promotion, Deadlight, puts a cap on what may be the best pair of monthly freebies yet--I think the first free game, Hitman: Absolution, is the best game given away to date. Now, I haven't played Deadlight, but I know the game was met with mixed reviews; however, I don't think anyone hated the game and, if nothing else, it is a relatively new release [when compared to previous free games], and y'all know how rare those are. Anyway, links and all that jazz can be found below.

Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 04/15 - 04/21/14

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deals with Gold' is all about Batman, so, if you're into stories where a child's parents are murdered in front of his young, impressionable eyes, setting said child down a path of full of many soar throats and chaffing, this week's deals are for you!. Bad jokes aside, all the games on sale are great and, if you somehow still haven't played either Batman game--Asylum and City--buy both because they are a steal for only $5 each. (Gotham City Imposters is also a really fun multiplayer shooter with a good sense of humor that, if you forgot about it like so many others, is also worth picking up.)

Xbox LIVE 'Deals with Gold' for 04/08 - 04/14/14

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deals with Gold' is full of quite a few good Games on Demand titles (and one very odd inclusion--think Duran Duran), all for 50% off or more, except for the one game given away for free a few months ago--in other words, the Sleeping Dogs discount is far from tempting since it was free not too long ago and isn't even 50% off. Moving past Sleeping Dogs--I figured I'd let the dogs sleep for a change--I highly recommend Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for anyone looking for a challenge along the lines of Dark Souls, but a bit more forgiving; and, I know a lot of people hate on Resident Evil 5, but if you don't think of RE5 as a Resident Evil game, you should be able to have fun with a game that has some of the best co-op of last-gen.

Xbox LIVE 'Games with Gold' free game for 04/01 - 04/15/14: Hitman: Absolution

The newest free game--Hitman: Absolution--as part of Xbox LIVE's 'Games with Gold' may be the best free game yet and is definitely the most recent free game, coming in at just over a year old; compare Absolution to last week's games, one of which--Civilization Revolution--was released way back in 2008. Anyway, if you haven't played a single Hitman game, Absolution is a great jumping on point--it is much more action-friendly--and, if you like what you get for free, I highly recommend picking up for Blood Money and the HD Pack because the Hitman franchise is fantastic and every single game is worth playing--my favorite is still probably Blood Money because each level felt most like a playground in that game. Anyway, links and all that jazz can be found below.
