Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 03/04 - 03/10/14

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is not too shabby, with a good chunk of arcade titles and two recent Games on Demand titles for cheap--it's funny that Call of Duty: Ghosts is on sale this week and not last week during the Call of Duty-themed deal. Anyway, a few games worth checking out in this week's deals are Assassin's Creed IV--I'm still early in the game, but it's already a million times better than Assassin's Creed III--Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, and Galaga Legions DX; just think of it this way: you can get Gunslinger, Scott Pilgrim, and Galaga, combined, all for under $10.

Steam Weeklong Deals for 03/03 - 03/10/14

Tis another week of weeklong deals on Steam and now it's just getting ridiculous with how many games are on sale; so ridiculous, in fact, I'm just going to link about a dozen games I recommend checking out--because a dozen games is only about half of what's on sale--leaving the rest for you to check out for yourself--which isn't me saying the games not linked are bad, but that I haven't played them or don't find them particularly interesting. Of all the games listed below, the one I really want to recommend above all others is Condemned: Criminal Origins; Condemned is a fantastic first-person melee game--guns come into play near the end--with great atmosphere and some of the best scares I've ever experienced in a game. Anyway, all the deals can be found by clicking this upcoming bit of bold text: full list of deals. (These deals are good until 12pm CST, March 10, 2014.)

Xbox LIVE 'Games with Gold' free game for 03/01 - 03/15/14: Civilization Revolution

The newest free game as part of Xbox LIVE's 'Games with Gold' is the great and, as is expected, old Civilization Revolution. If you haven't played a Civilization game because you were intimidated by the main games, Revolution is the game for you because it takes the Civilization formula and manages to put it on a console with controls that work well with a controller, simplifying everything enough that anyone can get a handle on all the little details that come with a Civilization game--the included tutorials are great. It would have been nice if something a bit newer was free, but, at least the games Microsoft is giving away are not terrible. Anyway, grab your free game below (and do so before March 16th, the day Civilzation Revolution is replaced with Dungeon Defenders--which is another great, older game).

Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 02/25 - 03/03/14

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is extremely disappointing, partially because it's for older Call of Duty games and partially because most of the deals are open to all members, making the Gold membership feel extra worthless this week--it also makes no sense since you need a Gold membership to play online. Anyway, if you're late to the party for Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Modern Warfare 3, now is the time to pick up a whole bunch of DLC. And don't worry about finding matches; both games still have fairly active user bases.

Steam Weeklong Deals for 02/24 - 03/03/14

Well, Steam's weeklong deals only seem to be getting bigger and bigger, adding more games per week and doing a better job of discounting both newer games and games that haven't been part of the weeklong deals before. Of the games on sale, I highly recommend picking up Warlock - Master of the Arcane--which is a great turn-based strategy game that is easy to learn and fun from the very start--Runespell: Overture--which is a fun little RPG/card game--and Dungeon Hearts--which is a super simple (and fun) puzzle-action game. Anyway, all the deals can be found below or you could just click this. (These deals are good until 12pm CST, March 3rd, 2014.)
