Pixelated Playtime: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 5:05PM I was a fan of Sonic & All-Stars Racing. It didn't do anything special in the kart racing genre, but it was well done and full of a lot of characters I love—I will always be a Sega fanboy until the day I die (stupidly). Now, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has just released and attempts to mix up gameplay by adding transformations (get it) that move the racing from roads to waters and the sky. I've only played a little and the transformations do spice things up, but transforming from a car to a boat or a plane inevitably changes nothing but the location. Does that mean the game is bad? Not at all, it's a damn fine racer with great visuals and a lot of little trinkets for Sega fans; however, it is, whether you're on land, sea, or air, a kart racer and nothing new.
