Xbox LIVE Square Enix Publisher Sale: 02/07 - 02/13/12

What's that? A Square Enix sale on Xbox Live, eh? Well, I reckon if you're not playing a game with reckoning in the name you may find something of worth in this here publisher sale. There's a decent selection of items to choose from—including a ton of Tomb Raider items and the usual Avatar crap (I like Avatars to a point)—and best of all, it's a weeklong sale, so no need to worry if you don't have the points just yet. You can check out the full collection of on-sale items here, but I also provided a few links below for that which I personally recommend. - The sale is live and ends next Monday, February 13, 2012, so no, the sale can't be your valentine.

Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 02/07 - 02/13/12

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is about a little game many got for free and I don't know how many actually bought. Crimson Alliance is the name and Gauntlet (basically) is the game. I've played the game, beat it, enjoyed the DLC, and while my first impressions were iffy, I really enjoyed my time with the game and had fun playing both alone and with friends. You may say, "Well, I only really like *insert class here* so I'm only going to buy that one," but there's really no point in saving a few bucks when you can get all the characters instead.

I have always been excited to hear/see more about the Spider-Man reboot, but now, I'm more excited for this film than any other comic-related film of 2012; more than The Avengers and more than The Dark Knight Rises. It truly looks amazing.

The following story is a piece of flash fiction written by yours truly. You may or may not be surprised by the type of story based on what little you know of me and, more specifically, my usual sarcastic tone. This is what I do and I hope you find something of value in that which lies below, even if it's only fodder for trolling me.

"Pillow"

Knock, knock. The yellow door is all that differentiates Corey's family home from the rest, each house in the suburban subdivision is painted white with charcoal tiled roofs, no flowers, no color, only waist-high hedges blending into green grass, contrasting against white concrete, SUVs and minivans hidden behind garage doors. He peels open the door and I walk in without invitation, making a left at the family portrait next to the arched doorway leading to the living room decorated in blacks and whites with only hints of color in the form of roses and tulips. I take a seat in the full-sized sofa, blacker than asphalt, cling to one end, grab a throw pillow and slip it under my shirt. "Somebody's pregnant," Corey jokes. I pull out the pillow. "It's a baby boy!" he says, "Let's name him Pillow." I force a smile.

Finish the story with a little clickage of your mousey-mouse.

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is minimal and a repeat, but if you're one of the few many who still hasn't picked up Bastion, join the cool club and get your bast on! Okay, "bast" may not be a real word, but this week's sale is very much real and not something to pass by. If I've said it once, I haven't said it a thousand times (more likely a few dozen); Bastion is my favorite downloadable title of 2011 and one of my favorite games in general of the same year. So, would you kindly be kind and rewind your mistake this time and buy this fine game that makes me rhyme.

This week's show is a quickie and starts off on a rather weird, rather explicit discussion about creamy things, like Oreos and Ho Hos—it was late and I was frustrated due to technical issues almost leading to no show at all. That said, it's not how long you last but how good it is while it lasts, or at least that's what the ladies say when it comes to eating cereal. Now that I've started making no sense like this show's intro, I think it's about time to get into what we actually discussed on this hear episode.

In this episode we have one voicemail of five seconds about a hamburger covered in gravy thanks to a hot man who enjoys cake. But surprise, surprise, we can't make a show about a five-second voicemail—well, we could, but it would not be fun for anyone—so we ended up talking about video games and all that jazz. We did go over a few bits of news including the Resident Evil 6 announcement trailer, SOPA, and THQ rumors. How do you follow a boring week of Grand Theft Auto IV deals? You have a week of boring L.A. Noire deals. This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is all about yelling at people for no good reason and inspecting dead women who always seem to be naked. If you have a vanilla copy of L.A. Noire and no DLC, feel free to grab extra cases and alternate suits for half price—when you're trying to solve an important case, looking bad is not an option. That said, you may find it better to pick up the complete edition if you can find it cheap; it's been on sale quite often.
