Day five of Steam's Summer Sale is here and I don't know about you, but I'm losing that exciting feeling as many deals are repeating themselves and whatnot. The indie bundles are nice, but all the indie bundles outside of Steam ruin the desire to buy a pack when most people probably already own at least a handful of the games collected. It's looking a lot like the games we vote on agreed on the sale prices, meaning if they don't get the vote, they just end up as a daily deal or in the flash sale. It's not a terrible practice, but it does rob that moment when sales refresh of their excitement.
Of the daily deals today, I'd recommend an old favorite, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and a new wonder, Dear Esther. KOTOR is the greatest Star Wars story I've ever experienced and one of the best games I've ever played. It may not be a looker anymore, but it holds up in terms of story and the gameplay is good enough. Dear Esther is an interesting and beautiful game worth experiencing if only for the visual splendor of it all.
