Steam Holiday Daily Deal: 01/01/12, predictable rerun

Steam's daily deals for this here final day of the sales (01/01/12) is a predictable rerun of past deals and disappointing for yours truly. It's not that the returning deals are bad, but I was really hoping to see Hard Reset at 75% again as I somehow forgot to buy it when it was on sale—a.k.a., completely my fault. Selfishness aside, the returning deals are fine and dandy, but I sure would have liked to see some older deals returning over deals from yesterday lasting an extra day.

Blah, blah, blah; you should all know which games I recommend by now, but if not, I'll throw some out fast to fill space and waste time. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is my game of the year and since this isn't a PS3 deal, no hesitation is needed. Bastion is my downloadable game of the year and if you still haven't bought it you're a bastard. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is in my top 5 and lived up to my extremely high expectations, surprisingly the shit out of me. And every other game (almost) is worth at least consideration and remember that more than just these games are on sale and those sales end tomorrow too. Links and the shit that came out of me from surprise can be found below; okay, maybe not the latter, but definitely the former.

Steam Holiday Daily Deal: 12/28/11, defending dungeons

Yesterday's Steam sales (12/27/11) weren't so great at delivering a taste I craved, but I didn't hate; instead, I just decided to wait for another day. I didn't have to wait long as today (12/28/11) has brought some rather delicious tastes to my gaming tongue—I should probably look into why I enjoy rhyming so much and get that fixed; nah, it gives me what little charm and personality I have. Back on topic, the deals today are steaming with great prices on great games. You read that right, I said the deals were "steaming" because boy, am I one clever dude.

The first game I want to recommend I've recommended numerous times before: a little game called Dungeon Defenders. The game has been 75% off previously and if you missed out then, now's your chance to pick it up and fix your mistake. If you'd like to hear my thoughts, deeper and more detailed, feel free to check out my review of the Xbox 360 version (minute differences) and if that's not enough, download the demo and give it a go yourself. P.S. I highly recommend you convince your friends to pick it up as well; the multiplayer is where it's at—whatever "it" is.

The Assassin's Creed Effect

You may be asking yourself this: What is the Assassin’s Creed effect? It’s rather simple and may soon be classified as an almost terminal disease, or I may just be exaggerating a tad. Having just finished Assassin’s Creed II and putting well over fifteen hours into the game; I find myself trying to play other games as if I were still Ezio; with his agility, his arsenal, and his ability to run up a wall as opposed to running into a wall.
