Xbox LIVE "Countdown to 2012": 12/22/11 Daily Deal

Today's Xbox LIVE daily deal is definitely an improvement over yesterday's [link], but still unable to surpass Bastion. For some, potentially many, a discount on Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas DLC will be better than the Bastion sale, but many of the included packs have been on sale already and some have been on sale more than once. Either way, seven DLC packs are half price as usual and if you managed to miss all prior sales of said content, enjoy some quality DLC on the cheap. Not to be a negative Nancy, but I hope tomorrow's deal delivers something fresh, something we have yet to see on sale, something like Orcs Must Die! or Worms: Ultimate Mayhem.

Xbox LIVE Black Friday deals are now live on Xbox LIVE

I made a funny that's not so funny, unlike Bugs Bunny, who is awfully funny. Anyway, Black Friday deals for Xbox 360 are live and not too shabby—minus the horrible price for Fallout 3, as is common for On Demand games. If you enjoy good ol' fighting games, surprisingly fun poker games [review], or hammers that kill roughly 40,000 team members during war, you're going to be a happy camper today. A link to the Black Friday page can be found here, or find individual links, original prices, and sale prices below. (Obvious whore-ish clicking required)

Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 10/4 - 10/10

I usually don't post sales and whatnot, but if the number of hits the site received over Torchlight's sale is anything to go by, plenty of people don't know about these sales, leading me to believe people would appreciate such a post of a lovely discounts. And here I stand—I'm actually sitting—with this week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week', lasting from October 4th to October 10th. This week's theme is card and board games, mixing in some old classics with new things of magic that conveniently had Magic in the title. Keep in mind you must be an Xbox LIVE Gold member in order to receive the discounts.

Another week and another episode of Distributed Failure is here for your listening pleasure! This week's show is full of games, poop, and crap (did I mention poop?). I know you're not reading this; you're just saying "Where's my fudgin' download link?!" I won't waste anymore of your time, but remember to show your love and check us out on the All Games Network.

The Elder Scrolls Series Remains Dormant

I am a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series and find something so beautiful about that world. While I did enjoy Fallout 3, I was really hoping that Bethesda Softworks would start working on the next Elder Scrolls game after finishing their work with Fallout 3 (they officially confirmed that they are done bringing DLC to the game), but that doesn't seem to be the case.

"Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future."

That is a direct quote from Todd Howard, executive producer and game director of Bethesda Softworks, taken from his keynote speech at QuakeCon 2009. I know that this doesn't mean that the series is dead by any means, but I do find it a bit disheartening that we won't be seeing anything new in the Elder Scrolls universe for quite some time. Howard chose to only throw some bread crumbs at the gaming populus by saying that "We are working on our next big game but we are not talking about it." I wish their "next big game" was The Elder Scrolls V, but it is Bethesda and I'll take what I can get.
