*Entree into the contest is over... winners will be announced Monday (3/21) on the newest episode of Pixelated Radio.*
If you are a Sega fan, especially lovers of the Dreamcast, you are going to love the words escaping my keyboard. Sega has been nice enough to provide this here site with a copy of the Dreamcast Collection for Xbox 360, a copy of the Dreamcast Limited Edition Vinyl, and two very special Dreamcast hoodies (sizes to be determined). I don't know about you, but I would surely love to win me some of this lovely Sega swag. Enough chit-chat, time to deliver the information you really want: How do I [you] win them?
I always thought the question was, "to be or not to be," but apparently more people care about winning video game prizes. This lovely Dreamcast extravaganza will feature multiple ways to win. And, like my previously held giveaway, these prizes will only be eligible for Pixelated Sausage members, so sign up for an account and make it rain -- I don't know what that means. Anyway, onto the rules, ways to enter, and all important information.
________________________________________________________________________
1. You must be a member of Pixelated Sausage. If you are already a member, then you are fine and dandy in this category. If you are not a member, get off your bottom and sign up already!
2. Ways to enter:
- Download/Subscribe to Pixelated Radio on iTunes and review the podcast. After all that, post a comment on this here post with your iTunes name for verification. Remember, you have to write a written review for me to see a name. -- Important Note: The review must show you actually listened to the podcast and not just be, "I want free Sega crap!" Any review that only mentions this contest will not be eligible to win. -- One winner will be chosen this way
- Leave a comment here with a favorite Dreamcast memory. I will go through all of these and pick out my personal favorite. -- One winner will be chosen this way.
- There is no third (or fourth) way. The two other prizes will either go to a podcast reviewer or a Dreamcast memory, but I'll keep it all secret and suspenseful like.
- Be sure to list any preferences in prizes in your comment, as well as your hoodie size in case you win. I do not have confirmation on the sizes, but if everything goes according to plan, I will receive one Large and one Extra Large.
3. The contest will end on Friday, March 18, 2011. This is so I have time to actually receive the hoodies from Sega -- I have the game and vinyl on hand, but the hoodies are still on their way -- and so I can also announce the winners on the next episode of Pixelated Radio.

My most memorable moment with the Dreamcast, not sure if it is a great one or not
but playing Sonic Adventure and getting stuck on and then getting motion sick from the
wonky camera... fun times indeed
also I am a fat fudge sack, so my hoodie size is XL
Cashier: You want... Seaman?
Me: Yes, the game Seaman.
Cashier: Is this... A test?
Me: What do you mean?
Cashier: They said secret shoppers would come in to test us.
Me: No, this isn't a test. It is an actual game.
Cashier: Well... What's it about?
Me: ... Fish... Fish that you talk to.
Cashier: Why is it called Seaman then?
Me: They have people faces.
Cashier: I should probably stop asking questions.
I got my game of Seaman, but that cashier was probably ROCKED... To his very core.
If I did win, i would prefer that vinyl. My jacket size would be large I believe. Thanks for the contest!
So I finally had enough money for a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2, though sadly they only had used ones. I was more than happy to get the game, though I also didnt get the case + manual. Upon leaving with my prized game, I get home and to my dismay only "Part" of the game worked.
I was unable to play as... Ryu, Anakaris (dodgy), Guile, Zangief, Charlie, and Dan. To make matters worse only half of the stages would load... This was such a problem, on average I could only get to stage 3 without the infinite loading screen.
I promptly went back to the gamestop and demanded a refund for this shotty game. The employee told me that it plays so I was not entitled to one. Being nice though he tried to load it, and sure enough those characters didnt work. I asked to speak to the manager, and he explained that there was no reason for my disc to not boot those characters, and since the game loads I could not get a refund. After going to hell and back to try to get my money back... No one at the company would give me the time of the day.
Ultimately I never got my money back, and I haven't bought from gamestop since. Why is this my favorite memory? I actually played the game SO MUCH quiting out on level 3 - 5 every arcade run, and finally unlocked every single unlockable in the game. It was quite the accomplishment to unlock everything with so many road blocks.
Also in the off chance I win... I would like the hoodie in a large >.>
A highlight of the gathering would be coop on Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast. Visualize this: four manly guys clustered around 14 inch standard definition TV, peering at the tiny graphics. And I always got accused of hoarding the loot, even though I was a Ranger who would stay at the edges of combat. Except that it was true - I would always swoop in when the smoke cleared to pick up spoils before any one else could do so. :-D
Assuming I win, a large hoodie please. And the 360 Sega game collection please. Thank you. :-D
One of the first games I really wanted to play on the Sega Saturn was Panzer Dragoon.
Playing Saga on the dreamcast was sweet and awesome ^^
I'd have to say my favorite story is actually how I got my Dreamcast. But back in 2000 one of my best friends had a Dreamcast. One day a mouse bit the controller wire and when he turned on the system, the systems controller ports were fried. So he bought a new Dreamcast and gave me the other one as I wanted to try to fix it (as I really couldn't afford one, and didn't want to buy one as I was an N64 fanboy.
Inside the box was the original receipt and I decided to take it back to Toys R Us and see if they could do anything. They were sympathetic and did the exchange, and that's how I got my first Dreamcast, which went on to become my favorite system. I even gave my friend half the money for it, since that's all I could really afford.
Other memories:
I remember the Christmas that I received Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue from my mom. I was absolutely giddy, as I never got games for gifts, let alone 3 brand new titles. I tried all for 20 minutes, never got past the cat in Shenmue, enjoyed Skies a ton and eventually just ran straight through Grandia II. Amazing Dreamcast RPG bliss.
Also Street Fighter III and Capcom Vs. SNK 2, two of my favorite games of all time, were both played to death on the Dreamcast. Played them both every Thursday for at least 2 years of my college life with my best friend.
And I can't forget MDK 2, my first game for the Dreamcast that I bought immediately after playing the demo on my brand new system. Love that game to death.
I just honestly want a hoody, in XL.
Eventually, I formed a sort of "alliance" with a few people (you had to have a tight knit gaming group to avoid the hackers, scammers, etc.). I later found out that one of the people I regularly played with went to my school - and I knew the kid in person! It was so strange talking to him in person after we figured this out, but we ended up becoming best friends in person and in game. And we still play Phantasy Star games together to this day. I Never thought I'd be able to attribute one of my greatest friendships to an online gaming console!
If I win, I'd love the large hoodie. However, I'd prefer a medium if you do end up getting one in that size.
Sadly, I also enjoyed it's ability to be modded into a SNES, and NES so easily... but c'mon... Mortal Kombat 2 and THEN Phantasy Star on the same console? It was love.
