If you cannoy already tell, today marks the final day before 2013 butts its fat head in the door, making today the final day of the Xbox LIVE 'Countdown to 2013.' How does Microsoft plan on ending the countdown? Well, fine ladies and gentlemen, by discounting The Elder Scrolls content of course. Right now you can snag some DLC and digital versions of both Skyrim and Oblivion if you have some aversion to physical media. As of right now, only one piece of DLC from Skyrim is on sale, but stay tuned and I'll be sure to update the post as/if more DLC goes on sale.
Anyway, you can find the linkage and all that jazz below. You don't need my recommendation for convincing, but you're going to get it anyway. Skyrim is amazing; Oblivion is alright; both equal hours and hours and hours of gameplay, often stealing hours away, leaving you confused in the middle of the night, sitting in your underwear, wondering how you managed to lose eight straight hours to a game that had you doing nothing but picking flowers...not that I know from experience.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim [GoD] - ($59.99 ---> $29.99)
- "Dawnguard" [DLC] - (1600 MS points ---> 800 MS Points)
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [GoD] - ($14.99 ---> $9.99)
- "Shivering Isles" [DLC] - (1200 MS points ---> 600 MS Points)
- "Knights of the Nine" [DLC] - (400 MS points ---> 200 MS Points)
And remember, the Xbox LIVE 'Countdown to 2013' sale is open to all members, not just Gold members, so everyone can enjoy watching 2012 end, even if you're all out of counter space.
