Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' for 05/29 - 06/04/12

This week's Xbox LIVE 'Deal of the Week' is a not-so-refreshing glass of pop for those who like wearing caps; in other words, it's a PopCap sale and, for the most part, it's nothing new or particularly special. Out of all the games/DLC on sale, only Bejeweled 3 has yet to see a price drop—which is worth picking up if you haven't already/didn't buy the retail pack including Bejeweled 3, Bejeweled Blitz LIVE, Feeding Frenzy 2, and Zuma. All I can really say is, if you happen to own none of the games on sale, all PopCap games are worth a look and a potential buy.

Before I get to the list and linkage, I do want to single out one game that doesn't get as much attention as other PopCap games. Feeding Frenzy is kind of stupid as it's just about eating fish smaller than your fish while avoiding fish bigger than your fish. I can't explain it, but I played the hell out of Feeding Frenzy when it first came out and still jump back to it every now and again—I prefer the original over the sequel. Best of all, it's only 200 MS points, which equates to $2.50 in "real" money.

And don't forget to check out Heavy Weapon and AstroPop—two other PopCap games lacking equivalent attention—they're simple, fun, and deliver more than enough enjoyment for $5 apiece. In a few simple words, Heavy Weapon is about shooting shit while avoiding the same fate and AstroPop is a match 'em game where you control a ship at the bottom of the screen and suck in colored bricks as they move closer and closer towards the bottom in rows, shooting them back up in order to match four or more of the same color. Two simple games that remain fun to this day, so check 'em out if you forgot about them like many others.

Popcap games are pretty great in general, so this is a cool sale. A rehashed one, but better than another map pack sale.
