The Nintendo 64: Better Late Than Never

I may be a tad bit late to the party, but as of 3/29/09 I am now the proud owner of a Nintendo 64. I never owned an N64 and only ever played Goldeneye for countless hours at Toys R Us kiosks back in the day (I miss the old TRU days of purchasing a game by grabbing a ticket slip and heading off to some "gated" area as if I were purchasing crack).

My real reason for posting my "exciting" news is to ask you guy a question: What Nintendo 64 games should I pick up? I only own one game, Ocarina of Time, which I've actually owned for a few years, but I'm looking to find some hidden gems for the system as well. I honestly don't know much about the N64 and can't really think of any games that may be worth playing besides the stereotypical Mario/Nintendo games and yes, I already know Clay Fighter 63 1/3 is a must-buy...

I'm quite excited to try out some games that I missed, but I'm not as "orgasmic" over the whole thing as this young fella.

IGN is Totally Racist

Racism in video games has pretty much been the "in"-topic since Resident Evil 5 came out (as well as the weeks prior to release) and I've found more evidence to support the industry's growing racist ways. IGN is a site you may know, but they are hiding their evil ways behind a thin layer of mayonnaise-driven journalism.

Help Raise Money for Charity [Closed]

UPDATE (3/1/09): The Charity Drive is over. Much thanks to those who donated.
UPDATES BELOW (2/12/09)*
UPDATE (2/13/09): First Donation Recieved**
Number of Donations: 3
Total Raised(as of 2/14/09): $90

I’ve wanted to do something nice for a while now and this seems like as good a time as any. You may have noticed that there is a button on a left that says, “Donate 2 the Sausage”. This was put into place to try and get help in the funding of creating videos (buying the needed hardware to make them) and just general support. The Sausage Fund has brought me absolutely nothing since its incarnation, but I’m hoping people feel a bit more generous in donating to a charity.

This is where I get to the point of this post. I want to raise as much money as I can for donation to the charity Child’s Play. All donations of money in the month of February will be donated to Child’s Play, but that’s not the only way you can help. If you have any old or unused games/movies/etc, you can send them to me and I’ll do what I can via Ebay (or other means) to sell these items for more money towards the Child’s Play donation.

Nanerpus

What is a "Nanerpus"? ...I've seen the video and I still don't know, but I do believe I've received some partial brain damage. I really don't have much to say right now. I just wanted to let everyone know that we will be recording a new episode of Distributed Failure tonight and it shall be awesome! Look for it either tonight, or tomorrow morning.

Nanerpus comes with more sausage.

P.S. Don't forget to donate anything if you have anything...

Red Dead Revolver is Still Alive

Red Dead Redemption is now officially getting a sequel and it shall be called: Red Dead Redemption. While I didn't find the original to be a great game, I still found it enjoyable and it definitely had potential.

Details on Red Dead Revolver are slim right now, but it is slated for release in late 2009. It will be an open-world game, rather than being mission-based like the original. It will also be using the RAGE engine, the same engine that powered GTAIV. Besides those few nuggets, there really isn't much to say, but I expect to hear more details in the coming months.

I really hope this game turns out to be great and that it sells rather well (we need more Westerns dammit!). Maybe this will help raise interest in a possible Gun sequel. That game may have had some issues, but it was a pretty damn good game overall.

...Below is a clip from the best Western series to ever grace TV! Hopefully Rockstar is paying attention.

What the Fuck is a Raccoon?

"...and why do you have them!?"

Are you already confused? Do you want more randomness that somehow rocks the awesomeness of Aussie-ness with other-ness? If so, you'll have the check out the pilot episode of a currently unnamed podcast (suggestions would be appreciated) that stars some little people I know from a site called Giantbomb. Fun Fact #1: This podcast is explicit and not for virgin ears, or vaginally-inclined ears.

With all that being said, I personally found it to be an enjoyable listen even though it wasn't exactly about anything...besides trying to figure out what it was about (remember what I was saying about the confusion). You can find all the info (as well as the actual podcast) at sir Aussie's blog: "A Public Service Announcement".

...a lovely video for your viewing pleasure awaits you in the full post!

There is just something undeniably awesome about Aussie hip hop.

Killzone 2: On Drugs Addition

If you feel like watching a video that makes you feel like you just dropped acid then look no further. Someone put together a little video called "KILLZOWNED!!!!!!" and it's quite interesting to watch at five in the morning. This video is so ridiculous that I almost want to go buy the game now...how does that make any sense? Obviously the video comes with more sausage.

You have just been Killzowned! Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Instead, pay me $69 and $9.69 for sales tax. Thank you, please come again.

Batman: Year One Review

Batman: Year One is not my first graphic novel revolving around the “caped crusader”, but it did make me aware of how Batman came to be. I gained most of my Batman knowledge through the various films throughout the years, but they all seem tame in comparison to Batman: Year One. The novel is dark and gritty and it’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t have at least one flaw, even Batman. Whether the pain is emotional or physical, Batman: Year One really reminds you that Batman is just an ordinary man putting the weight of a city on his shoulders.

Skate 2: Captain Cannoli > Superman

Below is the first video uploaded from Skate 2...It proves that I am better than Superman and a ride into the sunset. Linkage: Skate Reel ...don't expect anything amazing from this video. It's really just a test video, but I still find it "short, but sweet".
