Hard West looks like the XCOM Western I never knew I always wanted

I love westerns. I love XCOM. When you take those two loves and attempt to mash 'em together, well, you have my attention and my attention is exactly what CreativeForge Studios has with Hard West, an upcoming turn-based strategy game set to release on November 4th, 2015. Now, I didn't even know Hard West existed until this morning--I stopped paying attention to Kickstarter games a while ago--but I'm happy I know about it now and, hopefully, will be even happier when the game comes out if it manages to surprise me once again, this time, however, with its quality. Anyway, I will hopefully stop using the word "hopefully" soon and will also, sigh, hopefully get my hands on Hard West in the coming week(s) so I can let y'all know if it's worth your hard-earned cash or not; until then, check out the release date announcement trailer below.

P.S. Hard West will release at the very digestible price of $19.99 (or $24.99 for a Collector's Edition) and can be pre-purchased on Steam right now for 20% off if y'all are feelin' lucky.

PSP #249: Transformers: Devastation / Toy Soldiers: War Chest / Natsume's Book of Friends / Brave Beats / Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans...

There's nothing quite like going into something expecting nothing and leaving wanting so much more and, thanks to Transformers: Devastation, Marc is feeling that way right now; though, it still doesn't make up for Activision's treachery releasing the devastatingly horrific Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. In addition to transforming thoughts of robots into words filled with joy, y'all, Marc also talks about Toy Soldiers: War Chest and a handful of anime--including the pleasantly delightful, absolutely lovely Natsume's Book of Friends and thee incredibly odd and, "What the hell am I watching?...," Brave Beats. Cheers and enjoy the show.

Anyway, that's it and that's all, folks, and, if you're feeling extra generous, donate a little money or subscribe to show your support for the site and show(s); it's not free to host the site, the show, to make and record videos, and everything in between, so, anything would be greatly appreciated, even if you just tell a friend or two about the site and show(s). Y'all can also support the site by shopping at Amazon if that's what ya like. And, of course, many of the shows discussed (if not all) are on Crunchyroll and, if y'all haven't signed up for an account just yet, well, what are y'all waiting for?! PSP #248: Cross of the Dutchman / Blood Blockade Battlefront / STARMYU / Shomin Sample / Heavy Object / Chivalry of a Failed Knight / The Perfect Insider...

Today's episode is so full of (some) games and (mostly) anime that it's amazing Marc was able to get all of it packed into an episode lasting just over 40 minutes. How did they do it? I don't know and, being the aforementioned "Marc," if I don't know, nobody knows. Anyway, the show begins with a tale about how searching for a new cell phone ultimately led to the happiest of happy amiibo finds--Little Mac says hi (by punching y'all in the face)--and then steps on the gas as Marc hits a few games--including a little indie game that could...n't--and a whole bunch of new (and old) anime. Cheers and enjoy the show.

PSP #247: Star Wars: Battlefront / Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign / One Punch Man / Mr. Osomatsu / Dance with Devils / Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation- / Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen...

Like the Energizer Bunny, this episode just keeps going and going and going as Marc talks about the Star Wars: Battlefront beta--which is way better than the Rainbow Six Siege beta--and how the latest Metal Gear Solid V patch--which adds Metal Gear Online and tweaks the single-player in various minute ways--has 'em addicted to the game yet again--it's a problem. And, like always, Marc ends the show with a whole lot of new Fall anime--including a show about a dog that loves to stretch their master's towel and a show where a young lady really likes bones, like, really likes 'em. Cheers and enjoy the show (and your weekend too).

PSP #246: The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Review / Witch Craft Works / Noragami Aragoto / Concrete Revolutio / Comet Lucifer / The Asterisk War / Lance N' Masques...

The Fall anime season is upon us and that means the Crunchyroll and FUNinmation queues that enjoyed the briefest of rests are now full and overflowing with brand new shows to watch (and hopefully enjoy) once again--including the second season of Noragami; however, before Marc goes crazy with all the anime (all the anime!), they review the traditional point-and-click adventure game, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, after talkin' a bit about the brand new, super-cheap $50 Amazon Fire.

PSP #245: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 / Forza Everything / Tango Fiesta / Overlord / Seiyu's Life / Deadman Wonderland...

In today's episode, Marc talks about the incredibly disappointing (even for them, who had zero expectations) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, how almost every Forza game has re-become a part of their life, how they no longer feel much like tangoing with Tango Fiesta, and, oh yeah, that game about solid gears made of metal or something like that. After that, Marc hits the final few anime series they've kept up with this season and a new (for them) series that is dark, in more ways than one.

PSP #244: Rainbow Six Siege / SOMA / Tango Fiesta / Gangsta. / Prison School / Food Wars! / Haganai / Makura no Danshi...

In today's episode, Marc talks about a miracle that happened thanks to a magic-man with the hottest cakes in the world--y'all can call him ('cause this is what he's called) Hotcakesman--and then, after the heavy rain of words about said miracle dries up, Marc hits a handful of games--like Tango Fiesta and SOMA--and, yes, mentions Metal Gear Solid V just a smidgen yet again. And then, after they're all gamed out, they hit the (almost) last of the anime season finales for this here 2015 summer season. Cheers and enjoy the show.

PSP #243: Blood Bowl 2 / My Love Story / Bikini Warriors / Seiyu's Life! / Wakaba*Girl / Season Finales...

In today's episode, Marc goes on and on about how they really like The Voice and how they did something related to The Voice that is quite stupid (note: see stupid), but don't worry, folks, that's not all (Marc is overflowing with the stupid on today's episode)! In addition to hoping y'all stand by 'em, Marc also talks about a few games, including the fun, but slow, Blood Bowl 2 and the not-so-fun, overpriced Overruled!--which didn't get any better with time, only worse. And then, after that--which included even more Metal Gear crap--they talk about a bunch of anime series that have come to an end this past week. Cheers and enjoy the show!

PSP #242: The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 / Overruled! / Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace / Season Finales...

In today's episode, a very energy-less Marc talks about games other than Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (though, they still talk about MGSV, too)--including The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 and Overruled!, which are both disappointing, sadly, in their own ways. After that, they hit (non-violently) a handful of Summer anime as many series are wrapping up just in time for a billion new series to start because there's no time for breaks in the world of anime. Anyway, today's show should be a good one to fall asleep to, so, goodnight and hopefully y'all have many wonderful dreams about fultoning anything and everything because who doesn't want to fulton anything and everything? If you disagree, well, you'll just have to be fultoned away from this conversation...

PSP #241: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain / Super Mario Maker / Sky Wizards Academy / Monster Musume...

In today's episode, Marc continues (better get used to it) talkin' about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, focusing on FOB invasions and general FOB nonsense--side note: the final fulton upgrade sure is something. After getting their daily dose of Metal Gear out of the way, Marc hits a smidgen of Super Mario Maker--check out the Pixelated Radio level created by the one and only Robert Wood (who would love it if y'all played his level) by inputting this here code: CD61-0000-0029-4589--and then touches (no pervert) a few anime series.

  • Question for the next show: What anime Fall 2015 anime series are y'all lookin' forward to?
