I Wish Played Final Fantasy VII 30 Years Ago | Attack the Backlog

Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00AM I appreciate a lot of Final Fantasy VII--the music is great, the story is surprisingly interesting, and I love the way the game transitions from gameplay to cutscene--but I hate playing so much of it. I've never been a turn-based person and the ATB system hasn't done anything to change that, and then there are all the minigames (and boy are there a lot of minigames). Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the game, I just wish I played it when it originally came out instead of now, almost 30 years later. Anyway and as always, thank you for watching or listening, I hope you enjoy this here episode, and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful rest of your day. (And if you haven't already, or are a listener and not a watcher, please like, subscribe, hit the bell, and all that jazz; it may not seem like much, but it goes a long way in helping support the show and site in general. I would appreciate it greatly.)
If you're feeling extra generous and would like to support me and my nonsense, you can become a patron to show your support for the site, the shows, the streams, and everything in between. Regardless of whether you can spare a buck (or two or three or more or not), I just want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to consume any of my content; it means a whole hell of a lot. Thank you so much for being a fan. :)
